Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

When you’re considering how to spend your time this summer, you might have some questions about our entertainment line-up, our services, or our facilities. We’ve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions so that you can get the answers you’re looking for! 

Can I get a refund if I can no longer come to the Saskatoon EX?

All tickets are non-refundable and must be used in the year purchased.

Can one person use Superpass admission and another use ride portion?

Yes. The Superpass is a two part ticket. One person may use the General Admission and another may use the Ride-All-Day wristband.

Does the Superpass provide midway games & pony rides as well?

No. Both games and pony rides require cash as well as some other feature rides not operated by the midway ie: Rock Climbing, Bingo, or Wobbly Water Balls.

Does the fair accept credit cards for preferred parking, admission entrances or midway?

Yes, this year we will be accepting debit/credit cards at all gates. Midway ticket booths accept credit cards. Some midway food vendors may accept credit/debit, but for those that don’t, ATMs are available throughout the park.

Does the Superpass get me into all the shows during The EX?

Yes. All entertainment (i.e. indoor shows, SaskTel Grandstand, Kickin’ Horse Saloon Show Stage, etc.) is free with General Admission, which is included in the purchase of a Superpass. Please Note: The Kickin’ Horse Saloon is a 19+ venue

Does my caregiver have to pay to attend the Exhibition with me?

Guests with disabilities who require full-time care and could not otherwise attend the Saskatoon EX without a caregiver present will receive complimentary admission for their caregiver. Guests will pay applicable admission upon entry.

What should I expect upon arrival at the Saskatoon EX?

The Saskatoon Exhibition now has walk-thru metal detectors and the uniform security provider will perform bad checks at all entrances including strollers, wheelchairs, and wagons and may also perform random personal pat downs. We do not permit any items such as weapons, pocket knives, mace, firearms, alcohol, lawn chairs, bicycles, scooters, skateboards or illegal drugs. Recreational cannabis is considered a restricted item at Prairieland. If you are showing signs of intoxication, you will NOT be permitted to enter. For the safety and comfort of our patrons, gang affiliated clothing will NOT be permitted on the park.

Is there a height requirement for midway rides?

There is a height restriction for some midway rides. Each ride has a designated height requirement which is posted at its entrance. A paying adult may be required to accompany a child based on height.

How does the Midway FastPass (Front-of-the-Line) ticket work?

A limited number of Midway FastPass tickets are sold daily and once this amount is reached, sales will be cut off. A special Midway Front-of-the-Line entrance is located at each ride. You must have a Superpass or Midway tickets to use with this FastPass.

Do I need to pay to ride with my child?

Yes, all riders must pay – best value day to ride with small children is Wednesday (30 ride coupons for $21.00)

Is there a time limit or maximum number of rides on the Superpass?

No. Ride all day any one day from opening to close. Includes both Main and Kidsville midways.

Can people with disabilities still ride?

North American Midway Entertainment is committed to giving all our guests with disabilities the same opportunity to enjoy and benefit from our services and attractions just as any other guest on our Midway.  Midway guests with disabilities are required to be able to place themselves in the devise seat or attraction by themselves or with the help of an attendant or support person.   During the course of the ride, the disabled guest must also be able to hold themselves in the ride without assistance and remain properly secured within the restraints and adhere to posted safety requirements for all guests.

If I don’t want to wait in line, is there premium seats in the SaskTel Grandstand?

Yes. There is a limited number of First-In & Superfan tickets nightly. First-In tickets are premium rush seating and grant access to the grandstand 15 minutes prior to opening. Superfan tickets are standing room only in front of the stage. Both passes are available online and on-site, if not sold out, for $27 each. General Admission is not included and must be purchased separately. 

What are the hours of the Saskatoon EX?

All admission entrances open at 12 noon daily with preferred parking lots opening at 10:30am. Outdoor entertainment areas, food concession and midways close at 12 midnight.

Does the Saskatoon EX operate in the rain?

The Saskatoon EX operates rain or shine. If severe weather occurs, some rides or areas may be closed temporarily during this time. A weather alert will appear on the large LED video screens located at the entrance to the SaskTel Grandstand and inside Market Square with details. No refunds are provided for bad weather.

Is there a plan for extreme heat?

All of our indoor halls in the Trade Centre have air conditioning to cool down in. We suggest staying hydrated, wearing a hat, applying sunscreen, and taking breaks from the direct sunlight throughout the day.

Is there a place I can refill my water bottle?

Yes. Water Bottle Refill Stations presented by Association Jeunesse Fransaskoise are located adjacent to the Express Way, north of Hall E, near EX Police Station, and near Washroom #3 for your convenience.

Are pets allowed at the Saskatoon EX?

Service dogs are permitted but pets are not. Do not leave your pet unattended in your vehicle. Kindly leave them at home.

Are there ATMs on the park?

Yes, there are Automated Banking Machines located in the Main Foyer, on the north end of Hall E, adjacent to the Kickin’ Horse Saloon, at Entrance #2, and at Sports On Tap.

Is smoking/vaping permitted at the EX?

Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our guest and employees. For the comfort of all, we request that if you smoke, please use an outdoor designated area. Smoking of cigarettes/vaping products is permitted in the designated smoking area of the Kickin’ Horse Saloon, grandstand (south end), South Concession Row, and Sports On Tap ONLY.

Smoking/vaping is not permitted anywhere else on the park including the midway or any performance areas. The Cannabis Control (Saskatchewan) Act Bill 121 and the City of Saskatoon Municipal Smoking Control Bylaw #8286 states that consumption of recreational or medicinal cannabis is prohibited in any form in public places. You will be ejected from the event, if caught consuming cannabis on the park.

Are there wheelchair or wagon rentals at the EX?

Yes, both items are available for rent, as well as walkers. Wheelchairs can be reserved in advance by calling the Prairieland Administration Office at 306-931-7149. Rentals are CASH only. *All prices are subject to change.

A $40 refundable deposit is required for all rentals.

Is there a place I can put items I don’t want to carry around the park?

Yes. The Saskatoon EX offers a Parcel Check that is located in the Main Foyer Info Kiosk. $3.00 per bin for the day, based on availability. Open 12 noon to 12:15am daily.

Where are baby changing stations, mothers’ room, and a family washroom?

For the convenience of small children and their parents/guardians, diaper changing stations are located in all indoor public washrooms and washroom #3 (west side only). An area for breastfeeding mothers and a family washroom are available in Hall E (Fun Zone) located at the north end.

What should I expect upon arrival at the Saskatoon EX?

Can I walk around the Saskatoon EX with an alcoholic beverage?

Alcohol is permitted in licensed areas only. You will be asked for one piece of government issued photo ID to enter these areas or to purchase liquor tickets. All ages licensed areas are designated at the Ruth Street Patio and SaskTel Grandstand. We have the right to ask for ID at any time if you are consuming alcohol. It is illegal to provide underage people with alcohol and charges may result.

I am from out of town, are there any hotels close to the EX?

Saskatoon Prairieland Park is conveniently located just minutes from downtown Saskatoon and a short drive from the Delta Hotels Bessborough and the Delta Hotels Saskatoon Downtown.

Can I bring food/beverages to the Saskatoon EX?

We welcome our guests to pack their own non-alcoholic beverages and picnic items. We have a number of green spaces and picnic tables throughout the fair. We ask that you help to keep the Park clean by using our recycle and garbage stations.

Can I bring my medical prescriptions?

Oral and injectable prescription medications must be in their original containers. Please only bring what you will require for the day. The Cannabis Control (Saskatchewan) Act Bill 121 and the City of Saskatoon Municipal Smoking Control Bylaw #8286 states that consumption of recreational or medicinal cannabis is prohibited in any form in public places. As this is a public space, consumption of cannabis is prohibited at Prairieland and the Saskatoon EX.

What are the items I CANNOT bring to the Saskatoon EX?

No professional photography, no laser pointers, no weapons (including bear spray/mace, firearms, and knives), no lawn chairs, no alcohol, no illegal drugs or recreational cannabis. See above for medical prescriptions. For the safety and comfort of our guests, gang affiliated clothing is NOT permitted on our grounds.

What if I accidently bring a prohibited item – is there a place to store it until I leave?

We cannot store prohibited items at the entrances. You will need to store them in your vehicle or it can be voluntarily surrendered and will not be returned.

Can I bring my own lawn chair and umbrella to the park?

Lawn chairs are not permitted as there are plenty of outdoor rest areas, including seating at most performance areas. Umbrellas are not permitted in the SaskTel Grandstand and must be returned to your vehicle or take to Parcel Check.

The Saskatoon City Police Service will be directing traffic during peak hours to ensure the safety of our guests. 

Please follow their instructions and select alternate routes to avoid high traffic areas.

Where can I park my personal vehicle when attending the EX?

Our Preferred Parking is located in the main parking lot. The access to this lot is off St. Henry Ave and Herman Ave. We recommend using the St. Henry Avenue entrance to avoid heavy traffic areas. Parking charge applied at vehicle entrances.

Travel together and save! Cars transporting 5 or more people will be admitted for FREE to on-site Preferred Parking where space exists.

Is there a parking lot shuttle?

Yes, the FREE parking lot shuttle will run from Prairieland’s parking lots (excluding Diefenbaker Park) to admission entrance #6 (Main Foyer). The shuttle operates daily from 12:30pm to 12:30am.

Is there accessible parking available?

Yes. Accessible parking is located in the main parking lot, on the west side of Hall B, and west of Hall D. Please ask parking attendants for assistance. 

How do I take a bus to the EX?

Saskatoon Transit is providing free service to Superpass holders to and from the EX as well as for Children 10 & under on Wednesday and Seniors 65+ on Thursday. Plan your trip to and from The EX using the Transit mobile app (or Google Maps on desktop) or book a trip on the On-Demand Transit app or call 306-975-3100.

Can I cycle to the Saskatoon EX?

Bicycles, skateboards and Segway’s are permitted in parking lots only. Bike racks are available at Ruth & Lorne Entrance and Ruth Street. Please do not lock bikes on perimeter fencing.

There are bike racks on the front of all transit buses. Cycle to the nearest stop, load your bike on to a bike rack, and continue your trip. Directions are printed on the rack. Racks on the front of the buses can hold two bicycles on a first-come, first-served basis.

Where are the best places to be dropped off and picked up by car?

We recommend that you use Entrance #3 at the bus loop located along Ruth Street for drop off and pick up. Drivers are not permitted to leave your vehicle or it will be towed as limited space is available in this area.

Do you have Taxi/Rideshare stands on the park?

Taxi service is available. Taxi stands are located at Sports On Tap, and Ruth Street Bus Loop (Entrance #3). Taxis are not permitted to wait on-site.

Uber is permitted on the park but doesn’t have a specific pick up or drop off at Prairieland Park, so we recommend using the Ruth Street Bus Loop.

Are First Aid Services available at Prairieland during the Saskatoon EX?

The First Aid Station is location on the backside of the SaskTel Grandstand and is open throughout the event. Also on-site are Medavie Health Services, located at the north end of the park next to the EX Police Station.

Are there police officers on-site during the Saskatoon EX?

The Saskatoon Police Service is located in the EX Police Station from 3 pm to 1 am daily. Officers patrol the park throughout the event alongside uniform security services 24 hours a day. If you require emergency assistance, please call 911.

What is the Circle K Lost Kids Program?

Kids on the park are kept safe by being wrist banded by the Circle K Lost Kids team as soon as they arrive on the park. Should a child become separated from a parent or guardian, the Circle K Lost Kids team will contact uniform security to escort them to the EX Police Station to be reunited with family. Wristbands are also available from any admission entrance or Lost Kids Kiosk (located in Main Foyer and either end of Kidsville Midway). This is a complimentary program. To assist in reuniting lost kids, please include a contact phone number on the wristband.

Where is Lost and Found?

Let us help you get your stuff back. Saskatoon EX Lost and Found is located in the Show Office in Market Square. Or call (306) 683-8911. All unclaimed items will be transferred to Saskatoon City Police Lost & Found on Thursday, August 10 and Monday, August 14. For any inquiries following the closing of the Exhibition, please visit the City Police Lost Property Department.

Yes. There is a limited number of reserve seats as well as Super Fan tickets for standing room right in front of the stage. All Premium Tickets are $25.00 and admission must also be purchased separately. Only a limited number of tickets available nightly. They are available online and onsite if not sold out.

What are the hours of the Saskatoon EX?

All admission entrances open at 12 noon daily with preferred parking lots opening at 10:30am. Outdoor entertainment areas, food concession and midways close at 12 midnight. All indoor buildings close at 11pm daily.

Can I ride Saskatoon City Transit with my Superpass?

Yes, show your Superpass ticket on the way to the fair and your wristband on the way home for free transit rides (regular routes).

The parking lot shuttle will run from Prairieland Park’s parking lots (excluding Diefenbaker Park) to the Admission Entrances #4, #5 & #6 (Hall E and Main Foyer). The shuttle operates Tuesday to Sunday from 12:30pm to 12:15am.

The Police Station is located adjacent to the Ruth Street Entrance and is staffed by the Saskatoon Police Service. This Station will handle all lost children and property. All lost property can be claimed at the Exhibition Police Station during the Saskatoon Ex. For any inquiries following the closing of the Exhibition, please visit the City Police Lost Property Department.

Lost Kids wristbands are available for children (phone # only, no name) at Info Kiosks, Admission Kiosks, Lost Kids Kiosk by Kidsville North and South Entrances, and EX Police Station. Lost kids will be escorted by uniform security to EX Police Station to be reunited with the contact on the wristband. This is a complimentary program.

The Saskatoon EX does not accept credit cards at any entrance or on the midway. Automated Banking Machines are located at Ruth & Lorne, Main Entrance Trade Centre, in the Trade Centre Main Foyer , Hall C Foyer, Hall E Foyer, inside Hall E North end and adjacent to Kickin’ Horse Saloon.

Bicycles, skateboards and segways are permitted in parking lots only. Bike racks are available at Ruth & Lorne Entrance and Ruth Street. Please do not lock bikes on perimeter fencing.

There are bike racks on the front of all transit buses. All you have to do is cycle to the nearest stop, load your bike on to a bike rack, and continue your trip. Watch how quick and easy it isDirections are also printed on the rack.

Racks on the front of the buses can hold two bicycles on a first-come, first-served basis.

Taxi service is available. Drop off locations are at the Ruth Street & Bus Loop Entrance, or at Sports on Tap. Taxis are not permitted to wait on-site.
