The Canvas of Our Community

Saskatchewan Art Showcase

Step into a world where history, creativity, and community come together! Located in the heart of the Summer Faire Hall (Hall A), the Saskatchewan Art Showcase is a vibrant celebration of our region’s artistic legacy and a must-visit destination at this year’s Saskatoon EX.

Whether you are an art lover, a history buff, or simply seeking a quiet moment of inspiration to recharge, this is your space to reflect and discover. (And the best part? All shows and activities inside the gallery are completely free to enjoy with your EX General Admission!)

Over a Century of Local Talent!

Since the very first Saskatoon EX in 1886, the creative arts have been the beating heart of the fair. Today, that proud tradition continues. The showcase is a true art lover’s paradise, featuring an incredible variety of mediums from local creators who bring their work to the festival for display, competition, and sale.

Wander through the gallery to explore stunning works in Fine Art, Photographic Art, and Creative Art—including painting, sculpture, quilting, woodworking, and so much more!

Be Part of the Tradition: Enter Your Art!

The absolute best way to experience the Saskatoon EX is to be part of the show. We invite you to share your creativity with the community by entering your own artwork into the showcase!

This is a welcoming, non-juried show featuring a wide variety of categories, divisions, and classes designed for every single age group and experience level. Whether you are a seasoned creator or a first-time hobbyist, there is a place for your art here.

2023 Featured Exhibits

Todd Fontaine Collection

Todd Fontaine was born at St. Boniface, MB on the shores of the Red River and has been an avid collector for over 50 years. Since his first discovery in 1972 at Nutimik in the Whiteshell Provincial Park, he has spent his summers combing the Winnipeg river shorelines learning about archaeology, nature, and history. His expertise increased through his friendship with the memorable Joseph “Joe” Duncan Robertson, with whom he tanned hides. Todd’s collection is vast and his passionate quest for information and artifacts weaves together the rich and vibrant history of the Métis people, of whom he is a proud member.
