The Saskatchewan Art Showcase continues to grow each year by offering a forum to display works of art. The Saskatchewan Art Showcase is a prime feature of the Saskatoon EX and is viewed by approximately 100,000 people.

Mail entries must be received by Monday, July 24, 2023 and include return postage for return of entries. 

Fine Art Rules & Guidelines

Please be familiar with all of our rules and guidelines before entering the competition. They are as follows:
  1. There is no entry fee.
  2. All works must be wired and ready for hanging. No strings, saw tooth hangers or cardboard hangers will be accepted.
  3. No nudes.
  4. Must be original artwork.
  5. Each entry requires an entry form; all entries must be accompanied by fully completed entry forms.
  6. No copying another artist’s or photographer’s work.
  7. Entries may not be previously entered in the Saskatchewan Art Showcase Fine Art competition.
  8. Please place sculpture labels on the bottom of the work.
  9. The Receiving Committee reserve the right to reject entries not pertaining to size or subject matter in all classes.
  10. We encourage artists to value their pieces for possible sale to the viewing audience.

Fine Art Categories

Cartoon Caricature
This would include, but not limited to, cartoons, character design, manga, etc.

Creative Manipulation
This would include, but not limited to, graphic arts, computer generated, etc.

Graphite & Charcoal
This would include, but not limited to, pencil sketches, charcoal drawings, etc.

Oils & Acrylics
This would include, but not limited to, oil paintings, acrylic paintings, etc.

Pastels/Coloured Pencils
Any piece created using pastels or coloured pencils.

Pen & Ink
This would include, but not limited to, pen and ink drawings and sketches.

Sculpture
Please place sculpture labels on the bottom of the work. All artwork, including sculptures, must be ready for display.

Watercolours
Any piece created using watercolour.

Mixed Media
Artwork that combines a variety of media and artistic techniques. This would include, but not limited to, collage, installation art, wet-and-dry media art, etc.

Miscellaneous
Any item not covered above that falls under the Fine Art category and follows the General and Fine Art’s Rules & Guidelines.

Fine Art Divisions

Division A: Open to all adult levels (18+)

Division B: Children and youth aged 17 years & under
