Tractor Pedal Races

Get ready to rev those pedal engines! We are bringing the thrill of the farm to the EX with our new Tractor Pedal Races. Kids ages 4 to 10 can test their farmyard strength by pedaling a mini-tractor and pulling a weighted trailer down our custom track. It is all about fun, laughter, and friendly competition. Come cheer on our little farmers as they pedal their way to the finish line three times a day!

Farm Friends Up Close

Step into a real farm adventure! Daily from Noon to 6:30 pm, Wander’s Tiny Farm is bringing the barnyard to the city. Visitors can meet, feed, and interact with a wonderful variety of friendly farm animals, including a heifer, goats, sheep, rabbits, and chickens. It is the perfect opportunity for families to connect with agriculture, get to know the animals, and experience a slice of authentic prairie farm life right here at the Saskatoon EX.

Working Dogs of the Prairie

Watch true teamwork in action as local Saskatchewan shepherd Jared Epp and his highly trained Border Collies demonstrate the incredible art of sheep herding! Using just voice and whistle commands, Jared and his dogs will show off the practical skills they use to manage flocks and support conservation grazing across the prairie. It is a mesmerizing, fast-paced display of the working bond between a shepherd and his dogs that will captivate audiences of all ages.

See the Science of Milk

Ever wonder how milk gets from the farm to your fridge? Visit the Ag Pavilion to meet Gert, SaskMilk’s interactive, life-sized demonstration cow! From August 3–6 only, visitors of all ages can try their hand at milking, watch live demonstrations, and chat with dairy experts. Learn how cows are cared for and see how modern technology brings fresh Canadian milk straight to your table!

How Do You Measure Up?

Stop by our interactive height chart to see exactly how you stack up against a big farmyard friend! Guided by our friendly mascot, Alfie the Alpaca, kids and adults alike can stand next to a life-sized farm animal and slide the physical marker up the measuring track to pinpoint their exact height. It is a fun, hands-on way to discover just how big these animals really are, and it provides a fantastic, photo-ready moment to capture your family’s day at the EX!

Stock Dogs in Action with Jared Epp

Jared Epp, from near Dundurn, Saskatchewan, is a sheep producer and skilled stock dog trainer. Since 2004, he has partnered with the Meewasin Valley Authority, using his flock for natural weed control in Saskatoon’s public spaces. Jared also trains border collies for herding and leads stock dog clinics across the region.

At the Ag Venture Pavilion, he’ll demonstrate the teamwork and communication required between handler and dog to manage a flock of sheep.
