At the Saskatoon EX, even a trip to the washroom can be an art experience! Two of our Washrooms have been transformed with colourful, creative illustrations by talented local artists. Take a moment to enjoy the artwork and discover the stories behind the artists who brought these spaces to life.
The murals at Prairieland are the work of a team of three Saskatoon artists: Josh Jacobson, Sean Vis, and Sam Forsyth. Together, the first two installations pay tribute to the flora and fauna of the Saskatchewan prairie: one building alive with the birds and forest that share this landscape, its neighbour wrapped in the wild blooms that colour it every summer. Each mural carries the vision and style of the artist who conceived it, and all three worked side by side to bring both buildings to life.
In Full Bloom

About This Mural
In Full Bloom is a tribute to the wild prairie flora we share this land with, painted at a scale you cannot walk past. Western red lilies, sunflowers, coneflowers, blanketflowers, and saskatoon berries wrap the entire building as one continuous painting. The composition shifts and reveals itself as you move around it, giving people a reason to take the long way around. Together with the wildlife next door, the two buildings celebrate the flora and fauna that make this landscape home.
Look Closer
The mural was designed as one unbroken painting that wraps all four walls. Along the way, look for the gnarled, weathered branches winding through the blooms, and the clusters of saskatoon berries, each one wearing its tiny five-point crown.
Meet the Artist
Josh Jacobson is a muralist and designer born and raised in Saskatoon, SK. Self-taught and rooted in street art, he has spent more than 15 years painting public spaces across Saskatchewan, with over 50 murals ranging from intimate interior walls to five-storey building faces. His work weaves bold, mosaic-like color into imagery drawn from the land and its communities. He leads the Prairieland mural program through his Saskatoon studio, J2 Creative.
Did You Know?
Josh leads a double life: digital designer during the week, muralist in the summer. The two meet on this building, which existed as a fully painted 3D model on his screen long before the real one got its first coat of paint.

In this mural the focus is on Northern wildlife while merging shapes that draw the eye through the piece. Each section has a standalone feeling, and the birds and plant growth fit the atmosphere surrounding the building.

Meet the Artist
Saskatoon-based multimedia artist Sam Forsythe brings over 20 years of experience creating vibrant artwork that transforms public and private spaces. Known for his large-scale graffiti murals, Sam’s creative work extends beyond walls to include original canvas paintings, detailed pen-and-ink illustrations, welded metal sculptures, and handcrafted woodworking pieces. Blending urban influences with traditional craftsmanship, his artwork showcases a unique mix of creativity, skill, and storytelling.
Did You Know?
Sam was born in his godfather’s house in Venlo, the Netherlands, Sam spent the first decade of his life travelling across Europe while living on a bus—a unique upbringing that helped shape his creative perspective and appreciation for different places, cultures, and experiences.
