QUALIFIED RESOURCE PEOPLE WILL CONDUCT THE PRESENTATIONS AT FOUR, 12 MINUTE STATIONS FEATURING THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:

STATION A - GOOD BUGS, BAD BUGS
Bugs that affect horticulture in positive and negative ways will be identified at this station.  The students will be given the opportunity to view these live bugs during this presentation.

STATION B - COMPOSTING
The students will be given the opportunity to learn about the composting process and to see what the final product will eventually look like.

STATION C - GROWING WITH PLANTS
This station will address the proper procedure for planting both seeds and geranium plugs.  The students will be provided with a hands-on opportunity to plant a geranium plug at this station and to take their projects back to their classroom.

STATION D - WHAT'S FOR LUNCH?
The topic at this station is how birds survive on various plant seeds and fruits during the winter months.

There is no charge for the tours.  Transportation costs are the responsibility of the school.

HOW TO APPLY:

Approximately the fourth week in January a registration and information package will be sent to each Grade Three teacher in school divisions in and around Saskatoon. The tour is not limited to these school divisions and we welcome students from all other schools to participate.
