AG-EXperience Provincial Display
In 2008 Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corp. launched the AG-EXperience exhibit at the annual summer fair which has an annual attendance of more than 200,000 people.
With the development of AG-EXperience, agriculture returned to the fair in the form of interactive, modern, hands-on displays. The current displays feature the Pork, Dairy, Beef and Poultry industries in Saskatchewan and provide up-to-date information on food consumption, safety and nutrition, the environment, animal byproducts, and animal care.
Due to the overwhelming response from fairgoers, discussions began between Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corp. and Saskatchewan Association of Agricultural Societies and Exhibitions (SAASE) with the intention of providing all exhibitions and fairs across the province the opportunity to access the AG-Experience displays. Unfortunately due to the size, structure and technical equipment, transportation of the individual units was not feasible.
Using the AG-EXperience computer games, graphics and information from each individual unit, a Provincial display has been produced. This portable display consists of four pop-up displays and laptop computers. The AG-EXperience Provincial Display will be unveiled at the SAASE convention in March 2009 and all SAASE members will have the opportunity to take this important message to their community, via this display.
The AG-EXperience Provincial Display has the potential to travel to fifty-nine additional communities in Saskatchewan, thereby educating thousands more on the importance of Agriculture in Saskatchewan.
